Capitalizing on a Beautiful View

Living in Rocklin, CA is tough, isn’t it? There’s more sunshine than clouds and the weather is mostly warm all year long. It’s a rough life, right? Okay so maybe not, but hey, someone has to do it! And when you live in Rocklin, CA, you want to take advantage of as many of the benefits as possible. Say you have a beautiful view out the front or back of your home. Don’t you want to see as much of it as possible? Perhaps when you get new windows, you can capitalize on that view even more. Here are a few ideas to help you brainstorm.

Picture Windows
Picture windows are the most popular windows for beautiful views because they can be as large as you want. You can make them tall, wide, or even both. If you still want ventilation in the room, you can add smaller windows around the fixed picture window. The operational windows can give you fresh air while not taking away from the view.

Bay or Bow Windows
Another popular option is bay or bow windows. These windows work well for great views because they jut out from the house at angles. You almost have a panoramic view when you stand and look out these windows. If you want to see as many different directions of your view as you can, they’re the best option. Plus, they can combine fixed and operational windows. And they add architectural interest as well as interior space to your home.

Window Groupings
If you want to enjoy the view, but you really need the ventilation, group several windows along the wall together to form a wall of windows. Casement windows work well because they don’t have any interruptions in the glass. They also open fully so you can get lots of fresh air at once. If you put three or four of them side by side on the wall, you have a great view.

Double-Hung or Slider windows
If you want to see more of your view side to side, slider windows give you a horizontal look at what’s outside. On the other hand, double-hung windows allow you to see things vertically. Both will have interruptions in the view since they have two sashes, but you can still get a good look at what your scenery has to offer.

Take advantage of where you live in California and enjoy the view as much as possible. Some of the summer days may get too hot for you to want to be outside, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the scenery around your house from inside.
